Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court to-day, all the cases against Stehr, for , embezzlement^ Whangapoua, fell through on technical points. The Court is now engaged with the case of sending a threatening letter to the bank manager at Tauranga. Daring Burglary at Mount St. John. The house of Mr Smith, fruit dealer, was broken into, the r drawers smashed, and £8 stolen.
Fatal Boat Accident. Dabgaville, Last Night. Donald Michie was drowned in the Wairda, river yesterday by the capsizing of a boat. He was a brother of Mrs Goldie's (wife of the Auckland Sanitary Inspector).
Suspected Suicide. Dunedin, Last Night. John Price is supposed to have committed suicide on Sunday evening by jumping off the punt at Alberton into the Clarence river. Attempted Suicide. At City Court' William Alexander was charged with attempting suicide by taking laudanum. ' Accused said he took it tor special purposes. The Bench bound him over in his own surety for £50, and ordered an insertion in the newspapers of a notice cautioning publicans against' supplying/him with drink. First instalment of Shetland relief fund, amounting to about £100, has been aent to Scotland, also two tons of oatmeal.
