AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.

At Piipakuia, on Wodnc->dav. about 50 head, mostly grown cattle, •vere yarded. 1 here was a full attendance, and all sold .it satisfactory prices. At Remuera, on I'hursdij, thcte weie improved prices for stock of all descriptions. Dairy c.ittle were fairly rel)i Cheated, and 111 bettci request, Scarcely any. stoic cattle were y.irded. Fat cattle in ihort supply , 120 head only yarded. At opening of the sale List Week's values ruled, but hardened is the s.ile proceeded, and many sales were effected at 25s the loolbs. Sheep were in usual number but mostly ewes of .1 good class ; prices were higher, fully 2s per head than has been obf.nned for many weeks, and were fully zjd the lb. \. full mirlcet of rtore pifjs, a good class, met a ready sale at satisfactory prices. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Report. — Hoi scs — 1 he supply his been good, but the demand has slightly slackened, unless for good hat ks, and useful medium draught horses. At the Durham Yaids on Friday, about an average number was entered, but scarcely as many changed hinds as on the previous week ; bidding, except for hrst-class hacks and useful active draught horses, being slow. We quote — hacks, from £7 10s to £18; light harness, from £14 to £21, 10s . medium draught, £21 to £30. Hides and Skins — At the Durham Yards on Tuesday, hides and skins were plentiful, and sold at a marked improvement on former prices — Hides fiom 4^d to 4^d; skins, from is id to 2s 7d. Cattle — The supply of both dairy cows and fat cattle was considerably below lequiremcnts, and consequently prices hive ruled much better than of late. At Newmarket on Tuesday, the supply was not up to the average; dairy cows were in good demand, and realised an advance on last week's quotations." Beef was scarce in comparison to previous week, and prices ruled higher. \Ve quote— Dairy cows at from £7 to £6 its; beef from 2js to 24s 6d Sheep. — Ihcrc has only been an average supply, and that of a poor des- < ription ; but pnecs were satisfactory to \endors. At Xevvmaiket, on Tuesday, scarcely an average number were penned, and prices had an upward tendeucv . Light weight wethers were very scarce, and sold at from 12s to 14s gd ; store ewes from 4s to os. Lambs were fairly represented, and sold well at from 6s to 15s. Pigs. — Hut few ucre j.irded Prices were high, and there was an unsatisfied demand.
