Hawera, Last Night.
Sir William Fox, accompanied by Lady Fox, Major Parris, and Messrs Bell and Hadfield, paid a visit to the Plains yesterday. The party had an interview with Titokowaru, which lasted about an hour. The Royal Commissioner fully explained the position of all the land marked out in the map just lithographed, showing the native reserves. The old chief appeared fully satisfied, but thought his Opakeha neighbours should be compelled to fence their laud, especially along road lines, as cattle are trespassing on native reserves.
