WAIKATO CATTLE SALES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — My attention has been drawn to a paragraph in to-day's issue of your Cambridge contemporary, which, from its untrathfulness, is likely to mislead a portion of the public. It is stated that, "although Messrs A. Buckland, and Hunter and Nolan, of Auckland, advertise the dates of their regular sales throughout the districts in which they do business, the leading auctioneers of Wai« kato give no public intimation of the days, fortnightly or monthly, when their sales are held in the various localities." Asa matter of fact, the fullest publicity is given to stock sales in the Waikato through the columns of the Waikato Times, notices in relation to Cambridge sales being, in addition, published in the Mail I may further remark that in the very" issue of the paper* #hioh contains the above appears a list .o~s«L,Hle& held in the district by one of {the Waikato auctioneers.— l am, &c, v J. TO THE EDITOR. ' Sib,— ln Tuesday's issue of "the yfxriu.'so ' Times, a local appears in reference to the practice of growing lucerne , in orchards, as being detrimental to the growth of the young trees. I shall bo ; glad if 'some of .yonrreadew coid^'state lf^lfrairie grass t uH,be Ukely to hftr© tho san^e efieofc.— I am, &c, ' "4 _ ii r )\ *l*\ ' - I- . .
