TE KORE TOWNSHIP.

TO THE EDITOB. Sib, — When William Perm founded the colony of Pennsylvania, he laid out the city which was to be Philadelphia on a plan which he and succeeding generations kept to, and never altered from his original plan as first laid out. The fine city of Philadelphia is now the best laid out city in America, all owing to Perm's forethought, and owing to his plans being rigidly adhered to. As Te Rore will be the city of Waikato (perhaps of New Zealand), I would earnestly implore and beseech the projector and founder of the city that is to be, to do as Perm did — draw out a plan — a faultless plan — which he (the projector) is quite able to do, and let succeeding generations keep to that plan. This city will immortalise him till the end of time. Stump politicians, great pro-Consols, sham benefactors of poor men, originators of public works, borrowers of millions, will be forgotten,— the place which once knew them shall know them no more ; but as long as the city of Te Rore stands, so shall his name be remembered, as Perm's is now remembered in Philadelphia. Aa I have lived in Philedelphia, I think I could suggest a few hints to the founder of this new city. I would suggest that a street be laid out half a mile from, the river, parellel with it from Heather's Creek to the Mangapiko riTer; this street should be six miles long ; there could be streets running each way crossways from this centre street, »nd the whole way along the river there could be a fine handsome street, or rather Boulevard or avenue. This would be a fine walk for the inhabitants, and when they wanted to get out of the smoke they could walk along the banks to where Alexandra once stood ; they would there be enabled to get curds and cream, as Alexandra fiat would make a good dairy farm, and if the abandoned houses were burnt and the ashes spread, the grass would grow beautifully. — I am, &c, Old Philadelphia.
