Proposed Treaty with the Boers. London, Maich 5. The Government has received information from the President of the Orancro Fiee State legaiding the overtures which he made, at the request of the late S>!r Geoige Oolley, to the Transvaal Boers for a cc-saticn of hostilities with the British. Dr. Brand says that the leaders of the Boer Republic, replying to the communication, state th it they aie willing to conclude peace, provided the torma are consistent with their demand for freedom and independence.
The Panama Canal. Washington, March 5. In the inaugural message to Congress, in assuming' office, President Gai field lefors to the projected Panama Canal, and in the coarse of his remarks said that the same should be under the supreme control of the United States.
Women Graduates. London, March 5. The Cambridge University have resolved to admit women as graduates.
