THE WELLINGTON OBSERVATORY. REPLY TO ST MUNGO. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — I have no wish to take up room in your coluuins with a matter that has very liUlc interest to your readers, but I should like to say a few words in reply to St. Mungo. Not boin«r accustomed to newspaper writing I perhaps do not make my nie.uiinjr clear, bub what I was trying to point out in my l-nt letter was that the Observatory in Wellington bears a similar relative position to the town of Wellington, as the Auckland one does to the town of uclflaud. Therefore, if the Auckland Obsirv.itory records the correct wind pip«surc in Auckland, so also must the Wellington one record the correct wind pro&iuo in Wellington. If the pveilasting 1 bills shelter the Wellington Observatory so also do they shelter Wellington town. — I am, &c\, MOLESWORTH-STREET.
