THE RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
The following circular has been forwarded to the Chairmen of Road Boards and Townships throughout Waikato, and it is hoped the result will be beneficial :—: — "Auckland, Sept. 22, 1880. " Sir,— What alteration of the present time-table would suit your part of the district, assuming that we only have one tiain each way daily south of Ngaruawahia. lam aware that the solution of the difficulty as far as the railway is concerned would be two trains daily, but the traffic unfortunately does not admit of this being done with economy. The question resolves itself into not receiving replies and parcels by return mail or train from Auckland, and having to remain two nights from town versus late delivery of mails. I should be glad of an expression of opinion, in order that I may place before the Commissioner of Railways for the North Island the fullest information on the subject. — I am, &c, A. Y. Macdonald, District Manager."
