SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTIONS ANNOUNCED.

WELLINGTON, Nov. 3.

Before the ordinary business of the House commenced this evening Mr Massey read letters on the subject of meat freights received by him from the Controller of Imiperial Government Supplies. The first letter, Jilted the 2nd iiist., read as follows: Beeif Freights.—Tho previous rate of freight was lfd per lb, pliiis 5 per cent., so the reduction on freight is fd per lb, plus 5 per cent.—equal to l-i> per cent. The combined reduction in freight and freezing charges will amount to about id per lb. Stocks of beef, to which the offer refers, amount to about 300,000 freight carcases (601 b).
