PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE.

EASTER CARNIVAL,

A meeting of citizens was held in the Town Hill on Friday evening to 1 carry out preliminary arrangements for holding a carnival at Easter. Dr Cordon presided!, and extended a hearty welcome to a number of ladies who were present.

Mr Jno. Crawford was elected general organiser for the men, and Mrs Crawford consented to act in a similar manner for the ladies..

The following were appointed to the various stalls:—Produce, Mesdames Hancock, Pro van arid Mr King. Dips, Mrs W. J. Winton and Mr Stock. Decorative exhibits and Baby (Show, Mr McNee. Side-show, Mr Woods. Tea Rooms, Mr Johnstone. Competir tions, Mr Webb. Decorations, Mr Price. Flower stall, Mr Akhurst. Door-keepers, Mr Bell.
