ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. TT is hereby publicly notified that a Meeting of Householders in each School District in the Education District of Southland will be held on Monday, the 3rd May, 1920, for the purpose of electing a- School Committee. The Meeting; shall he held in the Schoolroom of each District, and shall commence at 7.30 p.m. The number of members to be elected shall be five where the average attendance for the school for the. year 1919 did not exceed 100, seven where the average exceeded 100 but! did not exceed 200, and nine where the average exceeded! 200. NOMINATIONS. Householders are requested to send, in writing, by post or delivery, so as to be delivered to the respective Chairmen of the several School Committees, not later than B o'clock in the evening of Monday, 26th April, 1920, the names of persons, being householders, nominated by them for election to serve upon the Committee for the year next ensuing. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provision, in the case of a School District in a rural area any householder present at the Annual Meeting may at such meeting nominate for election to serve on the Committee any householder; and a householder nominated at a meeting and by word of mouth or by writing given to the I Chairman consenting to be so nomin- j ated shall be a candidate for election. Each nomination shall be signed by the proposer and by the candidate, and shall be in the form set forth in the third schedule to “The Education Act, 1914,” or to the effect thereof.
