Good Acceptances kav* bean received for the Riverton Racing Club’s Easter meeting, which commences on Saturday. The number of visiting horses is greater than in any other year, and includes several steeplechasers from Canterbury. The public will witness, should the present weather prevail, some of the finest steeplechasing seen in the history, of the Club. For patrons, extra accommodation has been made on the lawn. An extral motor paddock has been: provided in Davis’s paddock behind the belt of trees, and, this will also be for the use of horses and vehicles. Geo. Young, the well-known rider, who is second on the premier jockey list, will be riding bn the first day. Mr Joseph Hunter, bootmaker, is now established in larger premises in Palmerston street, and has a firstclass and attractive display at boot* and shoes on view. He has just received a special line of rubber soles and heels, which can be attached to boots, making them thoroughly water-. tight for winter wear.
