WILD BUSH SCHOOL BREAK-UP

The annual break-up of the Wild Bush school took place on Friday evening, 17th iust., when there was a very large attendance of parents and welwishers of the school present. Mr. G. Rodger chairman of the school committee presided and iu an able address cqngratula ted the children and their teacher, M’r. Lopdell on the splendid progress made during the year, especially on the way they had attended during the year. Out of a roll of 30, there was an average attendance of 26, which speaks for itself and no less than 11 attendance cer tificates were gained for the year which is a record for Wild Bush, considering the bad roads, wet weather, and long distances some of them had to come. After Mr. Lopdell Had given a) telling address to children and parents the chairman them presented every child in the school with a beautiful prize. Miss Hazel Ross being Dux of ’ the school, received a special prize after which the children were all treated to a large tin of lollies, kindly provided by the committee . The chairman then wished one and all a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year, which brought a pleasant gat hering to a close.
