A very pleasant function was held in'Crawford's Hotel on Saturday even ing, when the employees' of Moss' mill. Long wood,, met to present one of their number, Mr H. (Witsey, 0& the eve of his marriage, with a token; of their friendship and esteem in sm.pe of a haudsome hanging lam}'. Mr E. Williams was voted to the chair, and •in making 'the presentation, said that it gave them great pleasure to showMr, Witsey th>> high esteem in which he was held by his fellow employees and had taken the near approach of his marriage as a suitable occasion to present him with this token of their friitiidsbip. Mr Witsey in suitably acknowledging the gift, said that he hoped to long enjoy tho esteem and friendship of those present. Mr T.
