Bowling.

That the green is a favorite rc sort both for players and resident is evidenced every fine evening, am particularly so during this las week when large numbers gatheret to witness the finals for the troph ies given by Messrs Smythies anc: Dawson. On Thursday evening Mi Willett met Mr W. M. Tarlton and had a decided win. On Friday he met Mr Hislop, Mr S. Beer drawing the bye, when a very good game resulted in a win for theformer. Monday night saw the final played between Messrs Willett and Beer, and the popularity of both players was to be gathered from the large attendance. The keen interest in the game was lost through Mr Willett, putting up a big score in the first half of the game, but Mr Beer stuck to his guns, and although making some very good shots was unable to come near his opponents, who won by 23 points to 10, which included three points handicapped, Mr Willett was complimented by members on his consistent playing, and there is no doubt he was in great form, some remarkably good heads being played.
