(From Our Own Correspondent) The unseasonable state of the weather is the general cry with all, turnip sowing is only about finished, and the turnips that- are coming through the ground are getting peppered by the fly and email birds there are a few early patches of turnips that are looking well, but, unfortunately, there are but f*w early sown this season owing to the continual wet weather. Paterson’s friends will be pleased to know that he is again able to go about after a long and severe attack of influenza. •The National Mortgage Co. sold on behalf of Mr Jno. F. Noble, his farm containing 160 acres to Mr M McKay of Scotts Gap. Miss Greenslade is preparing the children for their annual school concert to be held on the 21st February next, the evening of the picnic. All the promises made before the last county elections re *he improvements that were to be made on the school road are not at all good metal, and those interested would like to see something harder than promises put on the road before the winter comes again. I hope that the recent available government grant will not be spent in promises and blasting pow der.
