TO THE EX)I 'Jolt. Silt, —I must again trouble you to grant mo space for a few lines, not as answer to Mr Quested’s second letter, but in explanation of my own. I do not lor a minute doubt that a horso may be brought under control in less than four Lours—if by that term is meant exhausting and stupifyiug the animal. Guo of the groat merits of Professor Lichtwark's method is that ho docs neither one nor the other; in fact, he repeatedly tolls his pupils that directly they see the horse they are engaged on is tired, they must leave it alone till it has recovered. Neither man nor animal can learn while in a state of exhaustion. When in my former letter I made use of the expression “ bring a horse under complete control, I implied, making the animal comprehend what is required of it, and rendering it obedient; in other wordy, educating it- .Everyone allow that there are “horses and horses; ’

ono may bo taught in ono hour what another will tako several to learn. It was stated in the roport of Professor Lichtwark's lesson that the horse in question was a particularly snllon animal. I have seen bim bring an unusually nervous horso into a stato of perfect obedience and confidence in far less than half tho time needed on that occasion. As Mr Quested seems to regard rny former letter in ratbor an antagouistical light, I will now leave the subject, begging luavo to assure him that I had no intention of hurting his footings, but was merely desirous of obtaining information. —I am, ko., WouLu-iiK-Pura.
