Stanley is marching on Monbassa after conquering tho Usujuoro and Uganda tribes. It is doubtful if Emin Pasha is with him. The Prince of Monaco is dead and the famous gambling hells from which he derived his revenue are to be suppressed. The Rev, Mr Barfield, an active Liberal Unionist lecturer, has not been seen for a fortnight and it is expected that he has been enticed to Ireland and murdered by Invincibles. The Hon. W. J. Fitzwilliam, member for Peterborough, has been killed by a fall from his horse. The man Pierce, who is stated to have fallen heir to a sum of £1,300,000 in Sydney, has been discovered in Kettering in Northamptonshire, and has proved his identity. He sails for Australia at once. His wife committed suicide in June last owing to the abject poverty in which the couple were living;

INTERCOLONIAL Melbourne, Sept. 12. Disastrous floods hare taken place at Eohuca, on the Murray river. Many of the residents have been compelled to take refuge on the high groiind, where they are living in tents. Boats have been sent up from Melbourne in order to rescue the people from their perilous position. Deniliquin is surrounded by water. The snow waters have reached' Albury and the River Murray is 15 feet above summer level. The water is expected to reach Deniliquin on Sunday night, when the town will be submerged. The inhabitants are preparing for the worst.
