MACCABE.

The Oddfellows Hail was well filled last evening, when Mr Maccabe gave one of. his delightful and world famous entertainments. The "onlv" Maccabe is still as versatile as ever, and his character sketches, although remaining fresh in the memory of those who had previously witnessed his performances, were rc-wolcomed, and enjoyed with gusto, while those who had'not before experience'! the pleasure of attending such an entertainment; went away charmed with the wonderful powers of a single man to sustain such a varied range of characters. Perhaps it. was in his delineation of the East End of London street singer that Mr Maccabe exhibited most power ; the consumptive cough and broken voice that tells of continued abuse and exposure, the bleared eye*, and the ragged habiliments taken toother with the pitiful attempts at miujc a ll tell the sad tale, happily unknown on this side of the line, but so familiar to habitues of the slums of the metropolis. Las' evening Mr Maccabe demonstrated unmistakeable that as a ventriloquist he is still second to none. The second part of the _ entertainment introduced the audience to Mdlle. Minnia—a capable andfascinatin!?actre«s,whofirstappears as a magic statue. She danced a Highland fling with charming grace, also a Spanish dance, and soon captivated the house who were rapturous in their applause. The entertainment was one of the best seen in Eiverton.
