The second day of the Taranaki Jockey Club's meeting opened in fine weather. There is a large attendance. The track is in good order. Results: — TARATA HURDLES. 1/1 —SOLOIST (Webby) 1 5/S—RUAFORM 2 4/4—MANGU KING 3 Scratched: St. Ames. Won by half a length: four lengths separated the next two horses. Time, 2.54. FITZROY HACK HANDICAP 1/1 —BONNY GLOW (Keesing) 1 2/2—CONTRACT 2 5/S—HINKEY PINKEY 3 All started. Won by three lengths; head. Time: 1.29. ELECTRIC HANDICAP 1/1 —GRATEFUL (Savage) ... 1 3/3—HAMARIN 2 2/4—GAY TALKIE 3 Scratched: Because. Won by two and a half lengths; neck. Time: 1.3 1-5.
