Their opportunity to (strike ia blow for peace on earth has arrived, and with the history of tragedies of the past fresh in their minds their task .on election! day should be comparatively easy.. “Desperate efforts are being made by agents .of the discredited Government to make ,it app’ear that those who are sittatndding upon the banner of Labour airte not to be (trusted with the responsibility of government, and that the savings of the people would nof!j be safe under their .supervision, hut when the true verdict of history has been written it will lie shown that 'Owing to lack of legislative and administrative vision on Itjhe parft of the present Government there have been more avoidable human (sacrifices, phylsical and economic, during the past four years i than ever before in the history of the ' Dominion. Labour is pledged to put that right. “My final appeal, therefore, ijs addressed to all citizens of goodwill tio settle minor differences and to work and vote for Labour candidate's who will igiiive the' whole of their time to abolishing poverty from the Dominion, and to the and extension of the right of the people to goveirii. My pledge to the people ils not given without thought, and will not be violated., nor Will itheir unbounded courtesy to me during the present campaign ever bo forgotten.”
