Tribute to the Police
After his inquiry yesterday into the deatlUof Aoan Rose Raltltnay, thlei child who was found in fihe Kalramu creek bed on July 3, disappearing while on her way home from school the previous day, the Coroner, Mr G. Ebbeitt, found that she had been violently assaulted and Injured, then had her face pressed into the mud till she was asphyxiated. He commended the police for tshlefitr peirttfinacity, and said that though*the child’s parents would be disappointed that the mu.rderetr’ls' identity was not uncovered, they would agree that nothing 'had been left to chaneie. * ,• A. and P. Show The schedule for the Waipukurau A. and P. Association’s show and carnival, to be held on the racecourse on Thursday, January 23, is now' to hand. All sections offer plenty of scope to exhibitors, and with several new features added, including a greyhound and tin-hare racing section, the show promifees to be even a greater success than that of last year, whteh was (the revival l show of the s/ssociation. Entries for the school sleetion close on Wednesday, December 11, at 5 p.m., while all other entries close on Wednesday, January 8, at 8 p.m.
