INDEPENDENT NATIONALIST
ADDRESS AT TIKOKINO
Mr. John Ormond, the Independent National Government candidate for the Waipawa electorate, was at Tikokino last evening, when he addressed a gathering of 125 electors. Mr. Jackson presided. The candidate spoke along the lines of his earlier addresses and was given a 'first-rate reception, which included a round of ‘‘three cheers.” At the conclusion of his address Mr Ormond was accorded ■a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of Mr. Donald, seconded by Miss Buchanan. MR. BARKER AT WAIPAWA Mr. W. L. Barker (Democrat) addressed ,a crowded meeting in the Concert Hall, Waipawa, on Friday evening, the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. F. Eagle, presiding. In opening Mr. Barker explained that he had left the whole of his notes in a car which was then on its way to Hastings. This, however, did not affect his ready flow, and he spoke forcefully for an hour and a half. At the conclusion of his remarks he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
