TAKAPAU NOTES
PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL
ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME
.(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The annual social of the Takapau Presbyterian Church Sunday School was held last evening in the Takapau Town Hall, when the Women’s Guild provided all the eatable and other good things which children like.
A very enjoyable programme was arranged by the Superintendent, and the teaching staff. During the proceedings the Rev. H. Scott presented the pri' -f’ to the pupils and tendered thanks to all those who assisted in the Sunday School and contributed towards the success of the evening.
General News.
Owing tc- the continued wet weather on the Takapau plains the farmers have only got in about three days’ shearing this last three weeks. On some farms lambs are troubled with their feet and not fattening as they should with the wet season. The Waipawa County employees are busy building up and preparing the two main roads approaching Takapau for tar-sealing and when this is completed it should be a decided advantage to the town.
