A Housewife’s Luck.
A Christchurch housewife felt very cheerful one day last week. She had made a small purchase in one of the city’s largest and busiest stores and by .some means dropped a £1 note on the floor. A quarter of an hour later she discovered the loss when in another store, and, as a forlorn hope, returned to look for the missing note. She found it, lying in the middle of the passage-way where it had been kicked and trampled on by the feet of hundreds of shoppers.
