CARS COLLIDE
ACCIDENT ON BRIDGE
NO ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED
A collision between two motor cars occurred this afternoon on a 12-ft. wide concrete bridge near Mr. G. L. Jamieson’s property on the Onga. Onga Road.
One car, driven by Mr. C. P. Agar, was travelling from Waipukurau, and was, it is stated, some distance across the bridge when the other car, driven by Mr. D. G. Rose, Ruataniwha, and travelling in the opposite direction, came on at the Onga Onga end, where there is a sudden rise in the road and a slight bend, obscuring vision.
Both drivers applied their brakes, but, owing to the narrowness of the ’bridge it was impossible to avoid a side-on collision.
Mr. Agar’s car was only slightly damaged, but the other suffered more extensively, being rammed into the side of the bridge. No one was injured.
