METROPOLITAN TROTS CONCLUDING RESULTS (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meeting concluded to-day. The weather was fine to the seventh race, when slight rain fell. The track was in good order. There was a good attendance and the totalisator investments were £26,061, ■against £24,817 last year. The total for the three days was £72,552, compared with £72,269 last year. Results in addition to those published in yesterday’s “Press” are as follow: — Addington Handicap.— 2 \Todd Lonzia (D. C .Watts) 1; 1 Raima 2; 7 Stanley T., 3. Times: 3.17 3-5, 3.22 1-5, 3.22 4-5. Islington Handicap.— 1 Gamble (M. B. Edwards) 1; 7 Graham Direct 2; 3 Llewellyn’s Pride 3. Times. 4.23 3-5, 3.21 2-5, 4.24 1-5. Farewell Handicap.—lo Roi L’Or (F. Holmes) 1; 9 Great Logan 2; 1 Tempest 3. Times: 2.8, 2.11 1-5, 2.12 2-5. WINNING SIRES HEROIC AGAIN HEADS LIST SYDNEY, Aug. 16. For the third year in succession Heroic heads the list of winning sires in Australia with 40 winners of 91 races, worth £26,540. Pantheon by reason of the achievements of Peter Pan, is runner-up. His stock won 52 races, and secured a deadheat for first in one race; their stake money totalled £24,166. Limond is third on the list with fourteen winners of the 25 races, and one dead-heat, worth £17,825; Wind,bag is fourth with 36 winners of 74 races, worth £14,149.
