Waipawa School

The monthly meeting of the AVaipawa District High School Committee whe held this evening the chairman, Air W. E. Yates, presiding over Alesdames Preston and Bibby, and Messrs Strang (secretary), Egglestone, Verran. and Gallagher. Apologies were received on behalf of Mrs A’Deane and Mr R. Fissenden. The headmaster reported on the attendances as follows: Primary average 166, roll 182; secondary average 55, roll 58. Also that <all window cords were in good order. The term holidays will extend from Aug* ust 23 to September 6. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr G. K. Holdsworth for the donation of five gallons of milk. The Education Board is to be asked to assist in, the matter of the supply of cocoa for the children. A vote of thanks was passed to the members of the Fire Brigade for their attendance on the occasion of the annual school ball. The committee also expressed appreciation of the excellent manner in which the headmaster and the school staff had carried out their duties at the ball. Alesdames A’dea.ne and Bibby were appointed visiting committee for the ensuing month.
