WOOLWORTH HEIRESS

AND HER. PRINCE

LONDON, June 6.

Mr Franklin Hutton, father of Princess Alexis Mdivani, the beautiful Woolworth millionairess, formerly Miss Barbara Hutton, said on his arrival in England that he was surprised at the rumours of an estrangement between his daughter and her husband, Prince Alexis, the young Russian. Mr Hutton told the “News-Chron-icle” that “Barbara married a squareshooting, regular fellow.” Mr Hutton added: “I reckon the marriage is still as sound as the day of the wedding. The rumours are all rubbish. ”

It was formerly reported that the Princess had shut herself in her London suite and written tearfully to her father, complaining that the Prince lavished more time on his polo ponies, her wedding present, than on herself. Her father was hastening to London..

Another report stated that the Princess would return to America with her father next Wednesday, and there were no reservations in the ship 'for her husband. Riches The Trouble

Mr Hutton added: “Alexis is a nice boy. He plays polo because it is a mans game. He can afford it. “They can afford anything,” Mr Hutton continued. “I suppose that is the trouble. If one has too much money one is followed from pillar to post.

“Alexis has been pleading with me not to take Barbara to America.

Asked by a pressman: “What about the tearful letters?” Mr Hutton exclaimed: “Downright lies!” “I have come to England because the dentists here are the finest in the world, and I want my teeth attended to.” Barbara Slims Mr Hutton said that he was not returning to America next week. Ho had taken a shooting box in Austria. Ho did not know whether Barbara was returning to America next week. Prince Alexis went to the stateroom and had a long talk with Mr Hutton and his wife, and they went ashore together. The “Daily Mail” states that Barbara has a positive mania for slimming. She refuses to eat anything. Friends at restaurants and night clubs remonstrated with her, but she sits rather gloomily while maitres d’hotel wring their hands with woe unable to tempt her with food.
