WEDDING

WILLS—BUSSELL CEREMONY AT HUNTLY A very attractive wedding of interest to Hawke's Bay residents was solemnised in the Knox Presbyterian Church, Huntly, on Saturday evening. March 31, the Rev. Mr French officiating.

The bride was Edna Louise, third daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Russell, “Cleland,” Kimihia, and the bridegroom Bertram Wills, second son of the : late Mr and Mrs Wills, of Waimate, South Canterbury. Mrs Wills was for some time resident in Waipukurau. Nfr Doug. Taylor, of Hastings, was the best man and Mr Tom Grace, also of Hastings, was groomsman. Mrs J. Luke, sister of the bride, presided at the organ. The charming bride was daintily attired in a model frock of parchment Venetian lace, moulded in tight fitting lines with godets of net finished with Cornelian applique. A slight fish train, cut in one with the frock, looked effective through the long flowing veil of soft folds of tulle held to the head by three narrow bands and orange blossom forming a second train carried by the flower girl and page boy. Her beautiful sheaf bouquet was of cream-tinted roses, cactus dahlias and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Miss Flo Otter and Miss Gladys Russell, sister of the bride were attired alike in frocks of green taffetas finished with deep ruchings at the hem and wide sashes. They wore striking toques and shoes to tone and carried sheaf bouquets of pink shot-silk roses and gerberas. The dainty flower-girl, Valmae Bond, niece of the bride, looked sweet in a long green frock of tucked net finished with taffeta ruchings and her companion. the page boy. Tommy Russell, nephew of the bride, wore parchment satin trimmed with lace. After the ceremony tho guests were entertained by the bride’s parents at the Lyceum Hall, which had been tastefully decorated with native ferns and greenery. Mrs Russell, mother of the bride, was wearing, a model frock of navy blue crepe-de-chine with hat and shoes to tone and she carried a spray of red roses.

The bridegroom’s sister, Miss E. Wills, of Waipukurau, wore a snjart frock of floral crepe-de-chine. with pleated sleeves of black circ and hat and shoes to match. Her bouquet was of autumn tinted flowers. Mrs L. Wills, of Christchurch, sister-in-law of the- bridegroom, was also present. After the toasts had been honoured and the numerous telegrams road, dancing was continued until a late hour, when the happy couple left for a motor tour of the South Island, the bride wearing a beautiful ensemble of brown windswept satin and a fur coat the gift of the bridegroom.
