Eleven notorious brigands who were awaiting trial for a village holdup in Bhagalpur State made a daring escape from gaol at Bhagalnagar yesterday, and are at present terrorising the countryside. Tfcey tricked a sentry into opening their cells and seized his rifle and shot and severe-: ly wounded him. Then they looted the police armoury of 11 guns and hundreds-.of rounds of ammunition and fled into the jungle.
