RADIO INTERFERENCE
Power Board s Suggestion A DISAPPOINTING REPLY WHAT THE ENGINEERS SAY Radio interference, said the secretary of the Power Boards’ Association in a letter discussed by the Central Hawke’s Bay Board this morning, had been considered at the last meeting of the executive, when a report had been received from the Engineers’ Association. This report stated that the engineers had passed a resolution to the effect that, while the power boards appreciated the pointing out of faults, nevertheless anything beyond their lines did not concern them; and that, as to locating faults, and the cost of removal of same, the power boards were advised to be very careful in accepting any responsibility; and that in their opinion there was no need for the Association to be greatly concerned over the matter. The writer added that he would refer the comprehensive report prepared by the secretary-manager of the Central Hawke’s Bay Board to the Engineers’ Association for consideration and would ask it to report whether any action was desirable. The secretary-manager said that he had replied reiterating the board’s request that the proposal should be placed before the Power Boards’ Association executive, not the Engineers’ Association, as it was considered that the former should deal with matters involving finance. “I must confess disappointment with the reply from the secretary of the Association,” said Mr. A. C. Holms, moving that the secretarymanager's reply should be endorsed. He said the Power Boards’ Association was the proper body to deal with the matter. The motion, seconded by Mr. W. H. Rathbone, was carried.
