Situation At Hastings I * / TWO MAYORAL CANDIDATES 24 COUNCIL NOMINATIONS (Per Press Association) HASTINGS, This Day. For the Hastings mayoralty there are two nominations: Messrs. G. F. Roach (present mayor) and G. A. Maddison. For the nine city council seats there are 24 nominations. For the two seats on the Hawke’s Bay Power Board and the two on the Hospital Board the sitting members have been returned unopposed. For the two seats on the Napier Harbour Board there are six nominations. NOT ENOUGH CANDIDATES POSITION AT MASTERTON (Per Press Association) MASTERTON, This Day. Mr. T. Jordan has been reelected unopposed as Mayor of Masterton. Nominations for the Council are two short of the required number and an extraordinary election will thus be necessary. WANGANUI CITY TWO ATM AT MAYORALTY (Per Press Association) WANGANUI, This Day. Two nominations have been received for the mayoralty, those of the present Mayor, Mr. N. G. Armstrong, and of Mr. J. T. Hogan. For the 12 seats on the Council, 22 nominations have been received. WELLINGTON’S MAYOR BACK COMMUNIST FOR COUNCIL? (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. v Mr. T. C. A. Hislop has been re-elected Mayor of Wellington unopposed. There are 34 nominations for thei 15 seats on the City Council, including one Communist.
