At the Sydney Stadium in a fight for the middle-weight championship of Australia, over 15 rounds, Ron Richards (10.13) gained the decision on a foul in the 12th round against Fred Henneberry (10.13 B the former title-holder. Richards was aggressive to the eighth round, after which Henneberry sparkled in infighting. He was twice warned for doubtful blows and finally outed for using a “rabbitkiller,” being booed out of the ring.
