DROWNED IN CREEK
ADJOINING A SCHOOL , TRAGIC HAPPENING AT WHANGAREI (Per Press Association) WHANGAREI, This Day. A High School boy, George Crowley (17) son of Mr. William Crowley, locomotive foreman, was drowned in a creek adjoining the playing field, last evening. He went into the water alone for a swim after training for a sports meeting. A quarter of an hour later his body was found lying at the bottom of the creek, with the arms folded on the breast.
