Government circles claim that what was tantamount to a revolution passed off with remarkable little in the way of unpleasant incidents. Though the Nazis are entitled to point to the absence of large scale violence, local incidents of violence and intimidation are still occurring. Workmen are killed in houses and streets by unknown assailants. Communist prisoners are shot, while it is stated, th 'y are trying 1o escape. Individuals are dragged from their beds by uniformed men and simply disappear. Helpless people arc roughly treated in raids. Prominent Jews receive threatening letters and distinguished persons credited with "Left” sympathies find an indefinite absence from homo advisable. Count Holldorf declared that for every Storm Trooper killed in Berlin and Brandenburg “ throe Communists will answer with their lives.” Herr Hitler received the Italian Ambassador conveying Signor Mussolini’s personal congratulations on tho success of tho Nazis. The entire Hessian police are now controlled by Nazis, who occupied tho Minister of tho Interior and forced thopolice stationed there to surrender their arms. Tho Nazis are now guarding Iho building. The Socialist trade union building and newspaper offices were also occupied. At Cologne, ignoring the protests of tho Burgomaster. Dr. Adenauer, tho Nazis in tho presence of a vast crown hoisted their flag on the City Hall and other buildings. The police apparently supported tho Nazis.

x ATTACKED BY NAZIS AMERICAN JEWS TN GERMANY BERLIN, March 8. The American Ambassador has made representations to the German Foreign Office regarding three cases of American citizens, two of whom, were Jews, who were assaulted by Nazi Storm Troops. The two Jews referred to are Nathaniel Wolff, who was assaulted and threatened by Nazis in a hoardinghouse and advised to leave Germany, and Harry Zetter, a New York Jew, who declares that fifteen Naxis attacked him and two friends in the street.
