H.B. CHILDREN’S HOME
THE ANNUAL APPEAL FUNDS URGENTLY REQUIRED The annual appeal will be held on Saturday, March 18, and residents of the Hawke’s Bay Province are asked to respond to the appeal as generously as their circumstances permit. For forty years the home has been caring for orphaned, neglected and destitute children of this province and the trustees have been accorded the utmost financial and sympathetic support during the whole of that period. Just as the adverse economic conditions have affected the individual so have they affected the income of the Children's Home. The position has now arisen that without substantial support there will be no funds with which to purchase the necessaries of life. This state of affairs the trustees are assured will not be allowed to continue and the residents of Hawke’s Bay will see to it that funds are available wherewith to provide the necessaries of life. Collections will be made in every town in Hawke’s Bay on Saturday, March 18th, but the collectors will not be able to reach all the residents of the province and it is asked that those on whom collectors cannot call will forward their donation by post. Cheques should be made payable to the H.B. Children’s Home and forwarded to H. E. Edgley, treasurer, Church Street (P.O. Box 145) Napier.
