REBATE OF 25% WANTED
H.B. COUNTIES' CONFERENCE
The Hawke’s Bay Counties’ Conference on Wednesday considered the following remit: •‘That the Government bt- asked to bring down legislation to provide for the total payment of the cost of maintaining main highways until such time as the farmers’ financial position improves.” After considerable discussion, the remit was dropped, and it was decided instead to urge that a 25 ner cent, rebate on all county rates should be granted.
