SHEEPSKINS AND HIDES NAM ER AIONTHLY SALE The monthly sale of sheepskins, hides and oddments was held in Napier on January 24. Competition was keen with hides at last sale levels, whilst cheepskins showed a decided advance. Inferior and short wools were a 4d per lb better and finer sorts were Id to lid firmer. Tallow was easier. Prices were as follow: —■ Sheepskins.— Alcrino, short .o halfwoollcd 2d; half bred half to full 4d to sd, short to half 2 l-4d to 2id; tiircequarterbred, half to full 24d to Ifd; short to half 21d to 3d; hogget lamb 4d: crossbred, half to full 2Jd to 3Jd: short to half 2 l-4d to 3d. hogget 2ld to 4Ad, lamb 3d to 41d, pelts Id to 2d, coarse crossbred half to full 2 l-4d to 3d. short to half 2d to 2 1-4(1; dead, half to full l-4d to 3d. short to half l-5d to 2d. hogget 3d to -3id; damaged half to full l-4d to 3d, i.elts ?d; seedy, half to full 2d to 3d, short, to half 12d to 2Ad; double fleece, half to full 2d to 2 l-4d. v Hides (country). —Cow. light 23-d to 3d. cut 2d: bull, stag 1 l-4d to I'd.
