SLAVES IN THE WORLD STILL NUMBER MILLIONS LONDON, Aug. 19. An estimate that there are between 4,000,000 and 6,000,000 slaves in the world to-day is made in a letter signed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Archbishop of York, -and leaders of Free Church. The letter refers to the 99th anniversary of the death of the famous anti-slavery protagonist, William Wilberforce, anc the signatories recall that next July will witness the centenary of the British decision to abolish slaverj within the British possessions.
