OF BASKETBALL TOURNEY ONLY THREE MATCHES PLAYED (Per Press Association) INVERCARGILL. Last Night. The New Zealand basketball tournament opened here this afternoon in beautifully fine weather. Only three games were played to-day, but for the rest of the week there will be eight games each day. Results of this afternoon’s games were: — Wellington (41) beat Marlborough (8). Otago (28) beat Ashburton (11). Canterbury (23) beat South Canterbury (H).
