BRIGHT DAYS The follow mg is the weather fore east for 24 nours from 9 a.m. this day and issued at noon: — The indications are for variable and moderate breezes. There is a prospect of fine weather, with the days bright and nights cold. The barometer shows little movement.

MILDER TO-MORROW ’Following is the Government meteor ologist’s weather report and fore east, issued last night:— A fairly intense anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while a moderate depression is crossing Tasmania. Moderate to strong but decreasing southerly winds north of Westport and Kaikoura; elsewhere variable, but northerly prevailing and northerlies later extending as far as New Plymouth and Napier. Seas rough between Kaikoura and East Cape and rather rough north of Farewell Spit; elsewhere moderate. Winds variable at first, but westerly and northerly soon setting in and freshening in the southern portion; seas moderate. Weather fair to fine generally, but some scattered coastal showers at first between Kaikoura and East Cape. Cold temperatures with many frosts to-night but becoming milder to-morrow.
