A Morere resident returning to his home a few evenings ago witnessed an aerial combat between two cock pheasants, which ended fatally for one of them. High up he saw the birds whirling in ever-narrowing circles, then a furious head-on collision and one bird crashed with a broken wing and other injuries, whilst the victor sailed off in triumph.
