MR. J. ANDERSON PROMINENT FOOTBALLER A very pleasant little social function was held in St. Mary’s Hall last evening, when the friends of Mr. J. Anderson, who is shortly leaving Waipukurau, gathered to bid him farewell. The hall was attractively decorated and dancing was enjoyed during the evening. After a delicious supper had been served, Mr. R. S. Ricketts, on behalf of the High School Old Boys’ Football Club, referred in the highest terms to the sterling qualities of the guest of honour, expressing the general regret felt at his impending departure and assuring him of the goodwill of his team mates and other friends. He then presented Mr. Anderson with a handsome silver shaving set in a leather case. The guest, who was accorded musical honours, suitably responded. Mr. Anderson, who has captained the Old Boys’ junior team this season, has been a prominent player and keen supporter of his club for the past five years. He has also represented Central Haw*ke’s Bay in junior representative football. He has been a very keen cricketer and represented the Old Boys’ Club for a number of seasons, captaining his side, and also gaining representative honours.

Gay, in a charming frock of palest pink georgette, floral inlets in skirt distinguished by tiny frills, satin ribbon sash. Miss P. Limbrick, in a model frock of Titian blue satin, two tiered skirt, scalloped yoke of georgette. Miss M. Robinson, powder blue satin, two hip frills and large bow to give bustle effect, blue and black bridge coat.

Miss R. Marfell, in a graceful frock of pink satin.

Miss J. Monteith, in dainty frock of pale green lace, pink bridge coat and shoes.

Miss E. Scott, in buttercup satin, deep hem of net. Miss Lovell-Smith, in white silk net over white satin, black bridge coat.

Miss M. Sharpin, frock of wine floral georgette under fur coat. Miss D. Jones, pretty frock of lemon taffeta, combined with lace. Miss S. McLauchlin, in dainty frilled frock of taffeta in tones of lemon and green.

Miss M. Rice, softly falling frock of palest blue voile, trimmed with tiny frills at hem.

Miss S. Maloney, graceful frock of autumn tinted taffeta, black velvet bridge coat. Miss C. Fleming, black satin and lace frock, worn with a red velvet coatee.

Miss. D. Rutherford, pretty frock of blue silk georgette, cut on long lines.

Miss N. Reidy, in a dainty frock of black lace, the skirt falling in long peaks, green shoes and coatee. Miss F. Ebbett, in pale pink sprigged taffeta and blue net yoke and flounce.

Miss D. McDonald, in a sweet white satin frock cut on slimming lines floral velvet bridge coat. Miss A. Adams wore a very graceful frock of black lace, black fur coat.

Miss O. McLean, long gracefu 1 frock of peacock blue georgette. Miss J. McCarthy, misty blue crep’ de chine, deep frill of lace, blacl hand-painted coatee.

Miss L. Ebbett, flame satin, smartl made, grey coatee.

A beautiful frock of primrose satin was worn by Miss C. Chisholm, the. skirt consisting of frills lockstitches in black. Her .sister looked becom ing in a frock of mole coloured vel vet relieved with white. An ensemble of white and red georgette was worn by Miss H. Matthews, the skirt trimmed with tiny frills, her .sister came in a pretty
