STAFF RE-ORGANISATION
DANNEVIRKE DEMAND
IN CASE POWER BOARD
At yesterday’s meeting of the fifeiwly constituted Dannevirke Rower Board, Mr. H. Frederickson brought up the question of the reorganisation of the staff, and suggested that a special meeting be convened to go into the whole question. “I think we have reached a stage when we have to cut down to bedrock and see where we can economise,” he said. He moved: — “That a special meeting of the board be held to consider the reorganisation of the staff.” Mr. A. H. R. Gillespie seconded the motion. He had had this in view for some time. Mr. J. Elder said that before any real good could be attempted the board should appoint a committee to go into the question and report to a special meeting. Mr. Fredrickson: I am prepared to agree to a committee being set up. Mr. Gillespie: I had that in view myself. Mr. A. B. Hansen said he agreed with the appointment of a committee. The chairman (Mr. M. O. Grainger): We will include the appointment of a committee in the motion. Mr. Frederickson’s proposal was then put to the meeting and carried. Mr. A. H. R. Gillespie then moved: That the Finance Committee, with the addition of Mr. Fredricksen, be the committee to report to the special meeting. This was seconded by Mr. A. B. | Hansen and carried.
