SCHOOL AGE-RAISING
The Position In Auckland
BOARD CHAIRMAN’S VIEWS SUGGESTION TO HEADMASTERS (Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Although the primary schools reopen on Monday, no official information has reached Auckland concerning- the raising of the school age from five to six years. It is expected that a number of parents will on Monday endeavour to enrol children below the age of six. 'i’he, chairman of the Auckland Education Board said that as it had not heard from the Department, which probably had been rushed with business, it was unable to instruct headmasters, but the latter would be well advised to postpone enrolments until instructions were received.
