(Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day.
The gift of the Waitangi Estate by Their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Bledisloe, to the people of New Zealand has awakened a sense of profound admiration in the minds of the Maori people said Mr. H. D. Bennett to-day. He had the authority of the Bishop of Aotearoa, he said, to say, on behalf of the Maori people, that the announcement of the gift had stirred the imagination of the Maori people throughout the length and breadth of New Zealand.
In the poltical field Waitangi was a star in the firment. For theii* worthy and thoughtful act Their Excellencies’ names would evei* retain a warm place in the hearts of this and future generations.
