H.B. RITUAL COMPETITION
LOYAL TAVISTOCK LODGE
The ritual judges for the Central Hawke’s Bay section of the Hawke’s Bay District of Alanchester Unity Oddfellows’ ritual competition for tho Alward Shield, Bros. E. C. Hurdsfield and N. J. AlcKay, P.D.G'.AI. ’s, paid a visit to Loyal Tavistock Lodge (Waipukurau) last night At the close of their deliberations it was announced that Loyal Tavistock Lodge had gained first place by a very narrow margin, from Loyal Abbo(sford Lodge (Waipawa), the awards being as follow: —Tavistock 162 points for the opening ceremony, 237 initiation, 52 closing mid 26 collective effect, total 477; Abbotsford, 174. 222. 56 and 24, total 476; Taka-
pau 163, 222, 47 and 20, total 452; Ruahine 136, 124, 42 and. 10, total 312. Maximum marks: 205, 280, 65 and 30, total 580. ATemorisation, expression and. articulation were the factors taken into account in assessing the points under each heading. The visitors included in the large assemblage of members of the Order at the mooting were cordially welcomed by the. Noble Grand, Sister Airs G. Reg. Cook, and fraternal honours followed, the District Grand. Afaster, Bro. P. J. S. George, delivering a very informative address in response to the greetings extended. Bro. S. R. Farmer, P.G., spoke oa behalf of the Loyal Ahuriri Past Grands Lodge (Napier-Hastings, etc.). Sister AV. Hurst, N.G. (Abbotsford) and Bro. R. L. Gigg, P.G. (Hastings). Tho following wore the officers elected for the ensuing term: N.G., Bro. B. H Allen; V.G., Bro. C. R. ATilnes; E.S.. Sister E. Scott. An appetising supper, and an hour spent in harmony, concluded an interesting evening
