DAY OF ATONEMENT FOR PRESENT DAY EVILS LONDON, Last Night. The British United Press Rome correspondent states that, an encyclical being issued to-day appoints Corpus Christi. May 26, a day o': prayer by the faithful to renounce on eight succeeding days amusements and recreations as an atonement for the evils of the preset day, among which the Pope enumerates atheism, communism, corruption and exaggerated nationalism.
