PRISONERS SENTENCED
<s> & WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT MANY CASES OF THEFT
(Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following persons were sentenced by the Supreme Court at Wellington:—Edward John Watson (29), forgery, attempted uttering, and theft, six months’ gaol on each charge, concurrent. Charles Henry Freeman (30), attempted unlawful carnal knowledge at Dannevirke, three years’ hard labour. Edward Roy Flawkey (30), indecent assault on a female child, two years’ hard labour. John Rupert Lawrence and Thomas Patrick Cuttie, jointly charged with theft, six months’ hard labour. Kenneth Joseph Payne (21), breaking and entering with, intent and breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation and ordered to pay costs and repay £2.
William Alexander Crossan, breaking, entering and theft, found by night in possession of house breaking instruments, and escaping from ettsbody, two years’ hard labour.
Thomas Leslie Alexander (23) breach of probation order, two years’ hard labour, concurrent with present term.
William Simmonds (48), breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation.
George Richards Seddbn Gray, theft, two years' probation on condition that £2l 15s was repaid, also £1 Is costs.
Thomas Leslie Alexander (23), breanch of probation order, two years’ hard labour, concurrent with present term. Horace John Anderson, theft at New Plymouth, two years’ hard labour concurrent, on each of two charges.
